We aim to build a vibrant and attractive community in which thoughtful planning and a diverse social life go hand in hand with strong core services. By developing the town center and increasing the population in harmony with the community, we will improve municipal operations and enhance the well-being of all residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the town grows, it is essential to strengthen transportation infrastructure and ensure safe, efficient traffic flow to and from the peninsula. We will make use of our role as a founding member of the Capital Area Transport Agreement to advance underutilized opportunities and improve connections across all modes of transport. Our goal is development that delivers tangible results for residents and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Promoting Effective Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Develop a comprehensive long-term vision for Ei\u00f0istorg and the town center,<\/strong> including mixed-use development on municipal land at Austurstr\u00f6nd and Ei\u00f0istorg, in close cooperation with residents and stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Revitalize Ei\u00f0istorg as the vibrant heart of the town<\/strong> by completing roof repairs, improving acoustics, and creating an attractive environment in collaboration with private partners in the area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Develop a modern quality-of-life hub for older residents,<\/strong> offering diverse housing options that meet needs at different stages of life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve traffic safety in all neighborhoods<\/strong> through targeted measures that prioritize pedestrian safety, including reduced speed limits.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strengthen public transport, ensuring that main Str\u00e6t\u00f3 routes serve the Gr\u00f3tta area<\/strong>and connect more effectively with the growing activity at Grandi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complete safe cycling routes along Nesvegur<\/strong> and create strong connections between the town, the university area in Vatnsm\u00fdri, and other key locations in the capital region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve access and management at Gr\u00f3tta<\/strong> by organizing parking and introducing fees, with exemptions for Seltjarnarnes residents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strengthen outdoor facilities near the Icelandic Museum of Natural History<\/strong> by developing a high-quality plan for walking paths, supported by public infrastructure funding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prioritize the Miklabraut tunnel project to improve transport flow<\/strong> for residents of Seltjarnarnes and strengthen connections to other parts of the capital area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ensure systematic maintenance of the town\u2019s road network<\/strong> by implementing and following a clear plan for improvements to streets and main roads within and leading to the peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sj\u00e1lfb\u00e6r rekstur Seltjarnarnesb\u00e6jar til framt\u00ed\u00f0ar byggir \u00e1 \u00fev\u00ed a\u00f0 n\u00fdta t\u00e6kif\u00e6rin \u00ed umhverfi okkar til a\u00f0 styrkja tekjustofna og draga \u00far skuldsetningu.
